Cryolipolyse

What is cryolipolyse?

Medical cryolipolyse is an aesthetic medical procedure that consists of “melting” fatty tissues by prolonged exposure to cold. In other words, you eliminate localized fat by cold in order to reshape your silhouette. The cold will kill the adipocytes (fat cells), which is called apoptosis! As a result, fat cells retract, empty and eliminate themselves naturally without damaging other (nerve or muscle) cells. Hence, 30 to 40% of fat deposits are destroyed as a result of the session.

Cryolipolyse is an adapted non-surgical treatment for areas such as the belly, the saddlebags, the hips, as well as the arms or the double chin.

This method is ideal for men and women without excess weight whose physical activity alone does not allow the elimination of localized recalcitrant fat tissues.

Of course, this method is not a substitute for a diet. It is a body remodelling method, which is by no means a weight loss method.

How does a cryolipolyse session work?

A session lasts approximately 60 minutes.

First, the doctor measures the skinfold thickness, takes your picture and weighs you… Then, a pre-impregnated cryoprotective gel wipe is applied to all area(s) that can be treated and the applicator is placed on top of it. A bearable cold or a tingling sensation may be felt. Once the session is over and the applicator removed, the doctor (or his assistant) will massage the treated area for about ten minutes.

Because it is a non-invasive technique that does not require any anaesthesia it allows you to resume your activity promptly.

The results are not immediately visible because the fat cells are gradually eliminated by the lymphatic system. The first results will be observed some 8 weeks after the procedure, but the fat cells will continue to be eliminated for 3 or 4 months.

How many sessions are required?

Results vary from patient to patient, but it usually takes only one to three sessions to achieve the expected results.
